On this Page: General Info Far Area Unknown Area Small Monoliths General Information Less than an hour outside of Boston lies the remains of ancient Celtic visitors (supposedly). Monoliths and rows of boulders aligned with North and South may have been left behind by the same people who built the structures in an area called America's Stonehenge in Salem, New Hampshire. There have been no archaeological surveys or digs in this area as far as we know, and the rangers at this park do not even want to tell visitors where to find the structures. Vandalism over the years has destroyed much of the site today, which may explain why the ranger we talked to was so secretive. Photos were taken long ago with a crummy camera and then the photos were scanned. We had to mountain bike to the areas, so we compromised with a camera we did not worry about breaking. It was fun to pretend to be photo-archeologists for the day. Far Area A small stone circle and a line of boulders. Unknown Area We can not figure out how to get back here. Small Monoliths (Maybe?) Who knows if these are just rocks or of any significance. Not us, but just in case, we decided to be thorough.
